One fortnight in Beijing. Besides the loads of striped tees that I've bought, the greatest reward that I've gotten from the trip is the group of friends whom I've made...

First of all, there's my roommate, Raymond.
It's a small world after all. When I told one of my army friends, Qiwei, that I'll be going to Beijing for this summer programme, he told me that his friend, Raymond, would be going too. Never did I expect that both of us would be room mates for the 2 week-stay in Peking University. Cool. He's one nice guy. Very quiet (but can't be compared with me... who can speak lesser than me huh?), wears white frames too (brothers ma!), a shopaholic (with good taste for stripes.. haha), listens to Chinese pop, sings well, and clubs well when he's drunk that is.. hee.

Then, there're his pals, whom I was introduced to on the first night - Lynn, Serene & Cheng Wei. ("Kop" this pic from Cheng Wei's online photo album.. I realised that I dun have their photos.. hee.. Thanks CW!)

We played bridge and chit chat that night.. They are all really cool people... Smart and fun to be with.. Sometimes it just makes me feel a little inferior when it comes to chatting about secondary school days.. They are all from top schools and all.. yet, I have nothing great to talk about my school except that to emphasize that it's different from Dunman High. Hmm.. Maybe it wasn't that bad but I can't help it.. ANYWAY, Cheng Wei is really tall la. I'm like a little brother tagging along on the trip. Haha, juz kidding. She's really superb at shopping.. not as crazy as Serene (her roommate) though but comparable.. haha. Oh, both of us have a knack for tees with silver/gold prints on them.. *bling*bling* A Zara-queen who doesn't eat fish but eats sashimi, and doesn't eat duck even when all of us were savouring Beijing's famous delicacy - Beijing Roasted Duck. Yum. Well, besides having the same taste for clothes, she likes to jog too! Unfortunately, I did not bring any running shoes over to Beijing, so I did not get the chance to jog in Peking University=( Her roomie, Serene, is a really chirpy gal and she's a powerhouse when it comes to singing... Undoubtedly a hardcore shopaholic, she got all excited when it comes to shopping, even at the expense of eating... Ok, i'm guilty of that too but it's was the last day of shopping man=p Serene and Cheng Wei were always taking photos (photo-whoring, they called it) whenever they went.. Little wonder they were usually one of the last to catch up with the group during field trips.. hee. Lynn is a year 3 student who's doing her last first-tier module.. So happy for her=) She's a really considerate gal who is a big sister to us, even though we are of the same age... She's always looking out for everyone of us and she engaged in many fun & weird stuff (like posing the multi-hand picture at the Bai Yun Guan - Taoist temple)... And she bought a collection of Mao's items like posters (I got one too!), cap, poker cards, cigarette tins, etc.. Real cool vintage stuff. Someone who knows the beauty of vintage, like me. Haha. Oh, and did I mention, Serene, Lynn and myself will be teaching after we graduate... That is so cool la. Good to know people in the "industry" early. Hee.

And of course, there're many more funky people I've made known during the trip, like my group members -

Great bunch of people to work with and ALL of them are fantastic singers.. The presentation was great, though I made a fool out of myself.. Never mind it's over now. And there are many others whom I would love to mention. Ya.

It was a really enjoyable trip to Beijing. If I were to get another chance to travel to Beijing, I would only want to go with you guys=)

Cough cough.. The sore throat episode had just been over & now I've persistent coughs... darn. My throat feels damn ticklish la... Need a miracle NOW!
