I just saw my friend's MSN nick: 5 days to freedom. What a coincidence, he's finally going to be out of NS while I'm returning to camp. Sucks!
Oh well, no use lamenting now. Everything's cast in stone. Sigh. *************************************************Here's some updates on the past week...
Last Sunday was Music Clinic's (MC) 3rd Anniversary Concert @ DBS Auditorium and I was part of the line-up in a duet segment with Jeremy. Come to think of it, I have been with MC for more than a year. I must say that the thing I've gotten out the most from joining MC is probably not so much of learning the art of performing but knowing this group of friends - the group that first brought me to see the world of clubbing on my 21st birthday! I have grown attached to these singing buddies I've made in MC's performing group (aka MC Choir). Well, in my opinion, this year's concert wasn't much of a success. Much like last year, the audio system was f***ed up. There was no echo, so the sound was raw. The audio "engineers" were idling on the job - forgetting to switch on the mics when they're supposed to. The worst of all, the mic produced no sound during my song! I had to sing at the top of my lungs, competing with the blasting accompaniment! That was what happened during the last anniversary too... Sob. Why is it always me who gets the lousy mics? Damnit.
Nevertheless, the performing cast this year is much stronger than last year's. For the last anniversary, the choir and some other students took up the entire repertoire of the show. We had to change several sets of clothes for different segments and we had had a lot of practices and rehearsals. It was so much fun back then. This year's anniversary is a whole lot different. The highlight of the show was basically a launch of the Music Clinic Records (MCR) and the "first appearance" of the 6 artistes signed up by the company.
3 of my friends - Calvina (2nd from the left), Jeremy (far right) and Tony (3rd from the left) - are officially artistes! Really happy for them=) They have been teaching in MC for so long and it's great that they finally get their rightfully deserved recognition. The first single released by them, "Wo Men De Tian Kong", is super nice! Must support the song on YES93.3 k! I'm sooo inspired by the music composer of this song - Mark Shi. And I'm so honoured to performed a song with Jeremy (far right), accompanied by Mark (middle) on the keyboard for this year's anniversary. Makes me wanna learn music composing right away=)
It was a great experience and we definitely had lotsa fun despite all the unpleasantness throughout the concert. Speaking of which, I want to complain, complain, complain! We were scheduled to meet at noon for soundcheck when the matinee performance was scheduled to commence at 3pm. The soundcheck with the other groups took so long and alot of emphasis was put into the soundchecking for the MCR artistes, the Project Superstar alum (Ruth, Jason & Wei Choong) and the Campus Superstar kids, that they sort of forgotten about the existence of the choir=( In the end, we only had time to do half a song each.. Sigh. Nevertheless, while waiting for our turn to be on stage, we still managed to engage ourselves in a photo-taking session of weird poses.. Hee.
This is a pic we took with Lovynn as the "lead poser"... The guys decided to hold a set of royal flush in each of our hands & Lovynn initially had to hold a Char Siew Bao... Haha. But she decided to take another one. This one with the guitar rocks right? Hahah
Me & Sylvia...
Me & Ruth
Oh, and I wanted to take a picture with Adriano but my camera's batt went flat & even if I had batt, I would have felt a little awkward requesting to take a photo with someone so much younger than me. I dun want others to think that I'm some star-chasing freak. Ya. So no photo with him=(
Well, this week is coming to an end soon and I'm beginning to dread it. IPPT coming up & I've only managed to go running thrice since my first. Sigh. And I finally completed my part of the group report for the summer programme. Phew, one thing to strike off from my checklist. Gotta start brainstorming about my individual research paper. That sucks.
Hope some time off to meet up with my JC classmates tomorrow will be good=) Gotta run tomorrow morning. Die die also must.

Yay, I finally went jogging today, after a long absence of much needed exercise!
I have always used to running in Pasir Park since it's so near my home but I had never jogged in the evening. Running in Pasir Ris Park in the evening just feels different. Cooler air, irresistible aroma from Fisherman Village, spectacular orang-y sunset view at the beach.. I wanna dine by the sea soon... Ok, gotta stop thinking about food. Must Exercise. Exercise. Exercise. Having such a refreshing start makes my "exercise regime" seem optimistic... Better gear up before I lose the enthusiasm again. Having not ran for half a year, probably ever since SC marathon last dec, I think I have slowed down a whole lot.. Sigh.. Gotta run every single day from now on, especially when my IPPT window is closing and my In-camp training is just around the corner... SIGH*
Damn famished after running 5km la. Right now, I'm trying to digest the 7 "Guo Tie" + noodles I ate after the jog... Hey, I'm becoming normal again cos I've had proper meals today=p *Applaud clap clap*
I went out with Serene, Cheng Wei and Lynn for shopping and dinner yesterday. It was great meeting up with them after the Beijing trip. As usual, the one with the greatest shopping reward was none other than our Shopping Queen a.k.a TopKid (Cos she picked up this colourful cloth tote bag in Topshop which says "lollipop" and she loved it)! Dinner @ Sakae was good... I love the salmon skin maki that Serene recommended. Yummy. I think I'm beginning to like Jap food. Used to distant myself from Jap food cos they, erm well, taste different - the rice, being a tad sour-ish especially.. But I'm getting used to it, which is a Good thing.
Really wanna feast on all the good food... Especially after I watched this programme on Ch 8 which featured several "slurping good" dishes of chicken (whole chicken!) stuffed with butter rice/ potato gratin... Damn sinful.. but I like it. I was so engrossed that I forgot to check out the name of the restaurant. Darn. Well, now I have got to abstain from such stuff till my sore throat recovers (yes, it's back again. Freaking irritating.)... Need my herbal tea to get rid of the heaty "yang" now...

O
ne fortnight in Beijing. Besides the loads of striped tees that I've bought, the greatest reward that I've gotten from the trip is the group of friends whom I've made...
First of all, there's my roommate, Raymond.
It's a small world after all. When I told one of my army friends, Qiwei, that I'll be going to Beijing for this summer programme, he told me that his friend, Raymond, would be going too. Never did I expect that both of us would be room mates for the 2 week-stay in Peking University. Cool. He's one nice guy. Very quiet (but can't be compared with me... who can speak lesser than me huh?), wears white frames too (brothers ma!), a shopaholic (with good taste for stripes.. haha), listens to Chinese pop, sings well, and clubs well when he's drunk that is.. hee.
Then, there're his pals, whom I was introduced to on the first night - Lynn, Serene & Cheng Wei.
("Kop" this pic from Cheng Wei's online photo album.. I realised that I dun have their photos.. hee.. Thanks CW!)We played bridge and chit chat that night.. They are all really cool people... Smart and fun to be with.. Sometimes it just makes me feel a little inferior when it comes to chatting about secondary school days.. They are all from top schools and all.. yet, I have nothing great to talk about my school except that to emphasize that it's different from Dunman High. Hmm.. Maybe it wasn't that bad but I can't help it.. ANYWAY, Cheng Wei is really tall la. I'm like a little brother tagging along on the trip. Haha, juz kidding. She's really superb at shopping.. not as crazy as Serene (her roommate) though but comparable.. haha. Oh, both of us have a knack for tees with silver/gold prints on them.. *bling*bling* A Zara-queen who doesn't eat fish but eats sashimi, and doesn't eat duck even when all of us were savouring Beijing's famous delicacy - Beijing Roasted Duck. Yum. Well, besides having the same taste for clothes, she likes to jog too! Unfortunately, I did not bring any running shoes over to Beijing, so I did not get the chance to jog in Peking University=( Her roomie, Serene, is a really chirpy gal and she's a powerhouse when it comes to singing... Undoubtedly a hardcore shopaholic, she got all excited when it comes to shopping, even at the expense of eating... Ok, i'm guilty of that too but it's was the last day of shopping man=p Serene and Cheng Wei were always taking photos (photo-whoring, they called it) whenever they went.. Little wonder they were usually one of the last to catch up with the group during field trips.. hee. Lynn is a year 3 student who's doing her last first-tier module.. So happy for her=) She's a really considerate gal who is a big sister to us, even though we are of the same age... She's always looking out for everyone of us and she engaged in many fun & weird stuff (like posing the multi-hand picture at the Bai Yun Guan - Taoist temple)... And she bought a collection of Mao's items like posters (I got one too!), cap, poker cards, cigarette tins, etc.. Real cool vintage stuff. Someone who knows the beauty of vintage, like me. Haha. Oh, and did I mention, Serene, Lynn and myself will be teaching after we graduate... That is so cool la. Good to know people in the "industry" early. Hee. And of course, there're many more funky people I've made known during the trip, like my group members -
First Row (Left to right): Fang Yuan, our crazy group leader; Ee Min; Sophie, my food partner; Jinwei. Second Row (Left to right): Me, Jin Rui, Ying Zheng and our "Assistant Prof" Zhu Yi . Great bunch of people to work with and ALL of them are fantastic singers.. The presentation was great, though I made a fool out of myself.. Never mind it's over now. And there are many others whom I would love to mention. Ya.
It was a really enjoyable trip to Beijing. If I were to get another chance to travel to Beijing, I would only want to go with you guys=)
Cough cough.. The sore throat episode had just been over & now I've persistent coughs... darn. My throat feels damn ticklish la... Need a miracle NOW!
Ok dokes, more on Beijing later (if I have the time la)!

Ha, finally got down to blogging again! After the forthnight-long trip to Beijing, I came back with a bad sore throat.. But it got better soon after.. after I drank this Chrysanthemum Ginseng Tea mixed with some Chinese powdered medicine supposedly able to cure my terrible sore throat. Surprisingly, it works damn well.. but i've got coughs afterwhich.. Apparently, sore throat means i've too much "yang" in me and the medication is "yin" to counter the imbalance of "yang" in me... The Yin-Yang healing theory which my grp presented on is damn power la! HahaOk, enough about that. I went for this medical check-up (due 2 wks ago) on Monday at Raffles Place. Thought it would take me only 30 mins but the queue was damn super long la. It took about 90 mins in all. Freaking frustrating. What's worst was that as I was leaving, I met this group of OLs in the lift and they were like whispering to one another.. I swore I did not mean to overhear their conversation but I vaguely heard them said something like "it's him" and "i've only got tissue paper to sign" or something to that extent.. Ok maybe I was being too over sensitive but I don't blame them. Many people do mistake me for him - Adriano from Campus Superstar. (That's him & that's me at the bottom... Not very alike huh? But still...)

I was once stopped at Bishan by this group of anuties selling insurance... Another was at this Subway outlet. Sigh. Maybe it was a mistake to don similar specs. I should just return to contact lenses soon to avoid such weird stares from passer-bys...Ever since I've came back, I've been doing nothing much except to watch The O.C., episode after episode.. 12 episodes in a day. I soooo sooo a drama addict. Guilty as charged. I'm now onto Season 2 Episode 12 in which Marissa juz turned into a bisexual.. cool. Can't wait to see what happens next. For those who have watched it, shoo.. dun tell me anything!
