I just saw my friend's MSN nick: 5 days to freedom. What a coincidence, he's finally going to be out of NS while I'm returning to camp. Sucks!
Oh well, no use lamenting now. Everything's cast in stone. Sigh. *************************************************Here's some updates on the past week...
Last Sunday was Music Clinic's (MC) 3rd Anniversary Concert @ DBS Auditorium and I was part of the line-up in a duet segment with Jeremy. Come to think of it, I have been with MC for more than a year. I must say that the thing I've gotten out the most from joining MC is probably not so much of learning the art of performing but knowing this group of friends - the group that first brought me to see the world of clubbing on my 21st birthday! I have grown attached to these singing buddies I've made in MC's performing group (aka MC Choir). Well, in my opinion, this year's concert wasn't much of a success. Much like last year, the audio system was f***ed up. There was no echo, so the sound was raw. The audio "engineers" were idling on the job - forgetting to switch on the mics when they're supposed to. The worst of all, the mic produced no sound during my song! I had to sing at the top of my lungs, competing with the blasting accompaniment! That was what happened during the last anniversary too... Sob. Why is it always me who gets the lousy mics? Damnit.
Nevertheless, the performing cast this year is much stronger than last year's. For the last anniversary, the choir and some other students took up the entire repertoire of the show. We had to change several sets of clothes for different segments and we had had a lot of practices and rehearsals. It was so much fun back then. This year's anniversary is a whole lot different. The highlight of the show was basically a launch of the Music Clinic Records (MCR) and the "first appearance" of the 6 artistes signed up by the company.
3 of my friends - Calvina (2nd from the left), Jeremy (far right) and Tony (3rd from the left) - are officially artistes! Really happy for them=) They have been teaching in MC for so long and it's great that they finally get their rightfully deserved recognition. The first single released by them, "Wo Men De Tian Kong", is super nice! Must support the song on YES93.3 k! I'm sooo inspired by the music composer of this song - Mark Shi. And I'm so honoured to performed a song with Jeremy (far right), accompanied by Mark (middle) on the keyboard for this year's anniversary. Makes me wanna learn music composing right away=)
It was a great experience and we definitely had lotsa fun despite all the unpleasantness throughout the concert. Speaking of which, I want to complain, complain, complain! We were scheduled to meet at noon for soundcheck when the matinee performance was scheduled to commence at 3pm. The soundcheck with the other groups took so long and alot of emphasis was put into the soundchecking for the MCR artistes, the Project Superstar alum (Ruth, Jason & Wei Choong) and the Campus Superstar kids, that they sort of forgotten about the existence of the choir=( In the end, we only had time to do half a song each.. Sigh. Nevertheless, while waiting for our turn to be on stage, we still managed to engage ourselves in a photo-taking session of weird poses.. Hee.
This is a pic we took with Lovynn as the "lead poser"... The guys decided to hold a set of royal flush in each of our hands & Lovynn initially had to hold a Char Siew Bao... Haha. But she decided to take another one. This one with the guitar rocks right? Hahah
Me & Sylvia...
Me & Ruth
Oh, and I wanted to take a picture with Adriano but my camera's batt went flat & even if I had batt, I would have felt a little awkward requesting to take a photo with someone so much younger than me. I dun want others to think that I'm some star-chasing freak. Ya. So no photo with him=(
Well, this week is coming to an end soon and I'm beginning to dread it. IPPT coming up & I've only managed to go running thrice since my first. Sigh. And I finally completed my part of the group report for the summer programme. Phew, one thing to strike off from my checklist. Gotta start brainstorming about my individual research paper. That sucks.
Hope some time off to meet up with my JC classmates tomorrow will be good=) Gotta run tomorrow morning. Die die also must.
