In varsity, you are bound to meet people time and again in lectures and tutorials. You know that they exist, and they know you exist. But somehow we just don't talk to one another. Well, i actually don't really care. I don't make the first move most of the time. Probably only once and it somehow did not turn out well. Not that i don't bother, but it's just a social inhibition. I need my space, and most importantly, i dun like to talk. Period.
And i don't have to change for the sake of anyone except if it pleases me.
Anyway, i met this girl during one of the lectures weeks ago. We talked & we exchanged contacts. OK, IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS. Anyway, I'm quite appalled by this person whom i'm not sure if she's a "friend"...
Once i came in for lecture and i raised my hand to say hi, erm, ok, maybe it was a murmur... well, never mind, think she didn't hear me. Then i sat down on my seat and took out my stuff to read. I was really groggy that morning and didn't have the mood for idle chats (then again, i'm always not in the mood for idle chats). I did not bother to speak to her. Then she got pissed off. She remarked: Are you not going to say good morning until i say something? I was totally taken aback and said "er, no". Never in my entire life had i encounter such hostility. Gosh. And so i was pretty traumatised by that. But i still did not bother to speak to her. Ha.
Then we met online almost everyday and every single darn day, she will drop me a msg asking if i'm busy with my papers & if she's disturbing me. Oh gosh, i had to say "no, i'm not... i need to take a break too.." Well, that was a lie but how am i supposed to react? "Yes, you ARE disturbing me.. so **** off!" And she even blamed me for not dropping her a msg if i were to see her online. That was like *#$%&^. Ok, never mind. I didn't bother keeping that promise i've made. Darn.
Recently, in the midst of a an idle chat online, i thought it seems like that was the end of the conversation and i had to go back to work. You know, times when you seem to have nothing more to say except some frivolous stuff... ya. Then she said something like this: Are you not going to say anything unless i say something? Wow. gosh. That was so uncalled for. And guess what i said? "Yup, i guess". Think she did not get my hint that i dun like to talk to her..
Well, that must have been the most "interesting" person i've met in school. Anyway, she's actually a nice person la. She treats her friends, maybe except me, really well. Always waking up early in the morning to pack breakfast for her friends, to wake her friends up for tests and lectures, to clean up her friend's room etc.
Ok, really hope she's not reading this. Gosh, it would have been too obvious for her to identify herself. Cross fingers.
Some people just demand too much from a "friendship" huh?
